Director Animal Husbandry Jammu visits JKMPCL plant | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 15: Director Animal Husbandry Jammu, Dr. Sagar D. Doifode today visited the Jammu & Kashmir Milk Producers Cooperative Limited’s (JKMPCL) milk plant at Satwari, and interacted with the management there. During his visit the Director thoroughly examined the milk processing infrastructure and its various units including cheese making unit, ghee making unit, curd making unit, laboratory, cold storage, ice cream making unit, packaging section. The Director was informed by the CEO-JKMPCL that the organization has a membership base of over 10,000 local dairy farmers with linkages to around 400 village dairy cooperative societies and the installed processing capacity of the unit is around one lakh litres of milk per day. He issued instructions to the Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Jammu to organize special exposure visits of the budding dairy entrepreneurs so that the culture of cooperatives is popularized amongst them for their socio-economic betterment. The Director said that such visits shall keep them informed and aware of the latest technological advancements in the dairy technology industry and facilitate adoption of good management practices in the production & processing of clean milk.
