Yasha Mudgal exhorts stakeholders to work hard towards realizing PMs’ vision of reviving Cooperatives as vibrant entity

UDHAMPUR, Nov 17:- The Department of Cooperatives today celebrated 68th Cooperative week on theme “Cooperative marketing, consumers, processing and value addition” at Sainik Cooperative Public High School Tikri, Udhampur.
Secretary Cooperative, Yasha Mudgul, was the chief guest on the occasion.
While addressing the gathering, Secretary highlighted the achievements and activities of the department towards welfare and development of the society. She appreciated the services being extended by Ex-serviceman Cooperative Consumer store Udhampur to people of the district.
Secretary said the aim of celebration of this national event was to highlight the achievements of cooperative sector and chalk out future strategies for growth based on dynamics of Cooperative Department.
Secretary asked all the stakeholders affiliated with the cooperative sector to work tirelessly towards realizing Prime Minister’s vision of reviving Cooperatives as a vibrant entity.
She said that Cooperative department plays a pivotal role in strengthening the national economy by bridging the rural-urban gap and creating opportunities for income generation. She asked the concerned officers to collect the data of all the performing societies in the district so that they are further supported. On the occasion, students of the school presented theme based scintillating cultural performances.
Later, Secretary distributed mementoes among the participating students including outstanding Cooperative institutions besides handing over registration certificate to newly registered societies.
Earlier, Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies, Udhampur, Nishtha Nayyar, highlighted the importance of the day.
Additional Registrar Cooperative Society, Jammu, Dr Nirupa Rai, Additional District Development Commissioner, Kanta Devi, BDC Chairman, Nisha Sharma, Joint Registrars Cooperative Societies, Jammu, Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies, Ramban, Priyanka Sharma besides representatives of various Cooperative institutions, staff and students attended the programme.
Meanwhile, representative of PACS and CMS of Udhampur district, Jagdish Chander Anthal, CEO Devika Urban Cooperative Bank, Rakesh Sharma, Sajid Islam from Shah e Arrar Cooperative School Ramban and Captain Nathu Ram Thakur, Secretary Ex-Servicemen Cooperative Store Udhampur also spoke on the occasion. Later, a plantation drive was conducted in Sainik Cooperative Public High School, Tikri.
