Early Times Report
Rajouri, Nov 17: An elderly man has alleged that despite him making a video of a patwari accepting a bribe in Rajouri district no action has been taken against him. The video of the sting is in the possession of Early Times wherein Patwari is seen taking money from the complainant Abdul Hameed. The complainant while talking to Early Times said that there was some land dispute and he met with the concerned Patwari regarding this issue and demanded Rs 50,000. “Patwari asked me that the other party is offering him Rs 1 lakh but I will do your work for only Rs 50000. I told him that it is a huge amount for me and can’t pay it but he told me that he had to give shares to his senior officials also,” he alleged. He further informed that in order to prove the corruption charges against the Patwari, he decided to make a video by carrying out a sting and went to his home and gave him money, which was captured in the video. “After that I approached the concerned Tehsildar Manjakote. I was shocked to see his reaction. Instead of taking action against the Patwari, he refused to admit that video clip was genuine and termed it fake,” he alleged. He claimed that he first gave Rs 35000 to Patwari and then Rs 15000. “Despite that the Patwari didn’t do my work,” he added. He claimed that that he has made several complaints with the department and with the administration but till date he hasn’t got any response. When Early Times contacted the concerned Patwari for his version, he termed the allegation as baseless. He said that Abdul Hameed had come to his house and stayed there for two days. |
