| Horticulture activities in Jammu district reviewed | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 17: To have a complete review of Horticulture activities as well as physical and financial achievements under Capex/UT CSS in respect of District Jammu, a review meeting was chaired by Chief Horticulture Officer, Jammu Sarabjit Singh today at Jammu, wherein DLSMS Sanjeev Kumar and Sandeep Gupta and Horticulture Development Officers of Jammu district attended the meeting. Chief Horticulture Officer impressed upon all the officers to expedite the works undertaken for the development of the departmental nurseries and achieve the targets allotted under different schemes up to ending December 2021 so as to incur full expenditure well in time. He emphasized to glamorize the Horticulture Profession and to make a shift from Traditional Horticulture to Smart Horticulture by adopting the latest innovations like Modified High Density Plantation, Strawberry cultivation, Micro-irrigation technologies, Protected Cultivation techniques, Organic farming and Mechanization. Thread-bare discussion was held about the ways and means, the department could adopt for the betterment of the poor farmers and removal of the bottlenecks in the implementation of departmental schemes and also sought suggestions from the officers for providing hassle free services to the farming community and to address complaints and grievances in an effective manner. At last, all the officers of the districts assured the chair to extend full co-operation and vowed to work hard for the betterment of farming community and achieve the targets in time. |
