CAB: Two day long awareness programme concludes at Nowshera | | | Early Times Report NOWSHERA, Nov 17: Two day long awareness programme, organised by Field Outreach Bureau, Rajouri in coordination with District Information Centre Rajouri and Tehsil Administration, concluded today at Nowshera. On the concluding day a number of activities were held in the Nowshera town. A seminar was held in the Government Degree College Nowshera in collaboration with the College management. The aim and objective of the seminar was to motivate and inculcate the habits of health and hygiene among the young generation, especially the students. The seminar was organized under the chairmanship of Principal of the host college, Dr. Surinder Kumar while Sukhdev Singh Samyal was the Chief Guest. Speaking on this occasion, the Chief Guest shared valuable information about covid appropriate behavior and vaccination drives in Tehsil Nowshera. He informed that when the first case of COVID-19 was reported in Nowshera, the town was locked down for about 20 days. "At that time we were running short of masks and sanitizers but with active involvement of district administration, the situation was brought under control and now the entire tehsil is following COVID appropriate behavior" he said. He advised the students and civil society to shoulder their responsibilities for containing the spread of deadly virus. Dr. Surinder Kumar highlighted the importance of holding awareness camps in Govt. Institutions. He requested the students to act as ambassadors for spreading the awareness and information about COVID-19 in their respective areas. Dr. Chander Parkash, Nodal Officer for COVID-19, Sub District Hospital Nowshera acted as resource person and delivered a thought provoking lecture on guidelines and precautions to be taken to contain spread of coronavirus.
