KVK Reasi organizes awareness-cum-training programme on Agricultural Schemes | | | Early Times Report REASI, Nov 17: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi under the administrative control of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) organized farmers' awareness-cum-training programme on different agricultural schemes and programmes here at Bharakh village of Pouni block in Reasi district. The programme was organized under the guidance of Director Extension (DE) of SKUAST-J, Prof SK Gupta Scientist & Head of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi. Dr Banarsi Lal started the programme with the warm welcome of the participants. He spoke in length on different agricultural schemes and programmes undergoing in the district and urged farmers to avail the benefits of these schemes and programmes to enhance their farm income and employment. He added that there is dire need to transform farming as a remunerative economic activity through promoting agripreneurship and various agricultural schemes/programmes can play a pivotal role for this purpose. He elaborated the Pardhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, Pardhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayi Yojana, PM-KISAN, Soil Health Card Scheme, Farmers Producer Organisations (FPOs), Farmers Clubs, Self Help Groups, Kisan Credit Card, e-NAM etc. and guided the farmers about the benefits and mechanism of use of these schemes/programmes. Dr Suja Nabi Qureshi, Scientist discussed the schemes in the horticultural sector and urged farmers to adopt the modern practices in the horticultural crops. He also guided farmers on marketing management practices in the agricultural sector. KVK officials along with the farmers also visited the fields of progressive farmer of the area, Gurdev Singh and appreciated his efforts on diversified farming. Later on agricultural inputs were also provided to the farmers.
