Darakhshan meets Goa CM, urges for formulation of State Waqf Board | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 19: BJP National Executive Member, Party Spokesperson & Chairperson of Waqf Development Committee, Ministry of Minority Affairs, Dr Darakhshan Andrabi today had a meeting with Chief Minister of Goa Pramod Sawant at Panjim. She was accompanied by CWC members Haneef Ali, TO Naushad and Waseem R Khan. The delegation of Central Waqf Council inspected Sufi shrines and assets & properties of the Minority community in Goa State and also held many meetings with the state departmental heads & field management staff. The delegation also visited many minority areas and talked to the cross section of people. Later Dr Andrabi shared the field inputs with the Chief Minister and expressed her satisfaction over the minority welfare in the state. She urged upon the Chief Minister to formulate a full-fledged State Level Waqf Board in Goa as per the Central Waqf Act. In this connection a roadmap document was also presented to Sawant. Dr Andrabi was assured by the Chief Minister that the observations of CWC will be considered seriously and a decision will be taken soon. Dr Andrabi thanked CM for creation of a conducive inclusive developmental environment in Goa where the Prime Minister's 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikaas & Sabka Vishvas' is seen everywhere in practicality. Sawant informed the delegation that programmes & schemes of the Ministry of Minority Affairs have transformed the lives of minorities in the state. Dr Andrabi asked the Chief Minister to issue orders to the Social Welfare Ministry to shift to digital mode of working for implementation of all Minority schemes & welfare so that transparency is ensured. Later speaking to media at Panjim Dr Andrabi said that BJP has succeeded in creating an all-inclusive developmental environ in India where no discrimination on religious, regional, linguistic or ethnic grounds is allowed. |
