Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 19: Central University of Jammu (CUJ) in collaboration with National Commission for Women, Government of India conducted second webinar in the series of five webinars on 'Capacity Building and Personality Development' for female students of Jammu & Kashmir. The second webinar in the series was organized today on 'Preparing for Your Dream Job' with the supervision of Vice Chancellor (VC) of CUJ, Prof Ashok Aima and under the guidance of Prof J N Baliya, Head, Department of Mass Communication and New Media (MCNM) and Dr Ritu Bakshi, Associate Professor, Department of Education. The students from various universities including Jammu University, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Ladakh University and even Jamia Millia Islamia University actively participated in the webinar. The second webinar was hosted by Dr Archana Kumari, Assistant Professor, Department of MCNM, and was divided into three sessions. The first session started with the theme of "Resume Skills" by Suparna Kapur, Head of Placement and Training, IMS, Noida. Suparna introduced the participants with the skills of making a resume that stands out in front of an interviewer. She taught the difference between a curriculum vitae and a resume, she also briefed about the important aspects that increase the chances of getting shortlisted for an interview. The theme of the second session was "Brainstorming for Personality Development" by Dr Mou Mukherjee Das, Maulana Abdul Kalam University of Technology, West Bengal. Dr Mou discussed briefly about the importance of brainstorming and how it can help students in making the right career choice. She explained the concept of brainstorming and the steps involved in it. The third session was based on theme of "Effective Uses of Social Media" conducted by Tanushree, IP College for Women, Delhi University. Tanushree interacted with students and explained the importance of social media, its advantages, disadvantages and the ethical way of using it. She emphasized on using social media in professional manner in order to achieve career goals in future. She also mentioned that LinkedIn, Twitter, Meta and Instagram can be used to build professional network apart from socializing as well. All these guest faculties focused on helping young female students in building self-confidence and professionalism to grow in career and in life. The webinar ended with vote of thanks given by Dr Nancy Mengi, Senior Assistant Professor, Department of Social Work. Dr J N Baliya appreciated all the participants, resource persons and the coordinators for making the webinar a success. |
