Poonch,Nov 20: A poor family at Loheil Bela village of Block Loran in this frontier district is living in a dilapidated mud house as the benefits of Prime Minister Awas Yojana (PMAY) are yet to reach it.
“Once we were informed that our name is in the PMAY list, but we couldn’t pay a commission due to which our name was dropped from the list,” said Hassan Din and his wife.
They said, “We were told that the government is providing houses under the PMAY scheme but we didn’t get it.”
The couple said, “Whenever it rains we fail to protect ourselves.
The government should provide us with a house under PMAY. We are very poor and cannot afford to build a paca house.”
The couple urged Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to help them.
Despite repeated attempts, the Block Development Officer didn’t pick up the phone.
However, another official Nazakat Hussain said, “The person is genuine, but unfortunately his name was neither in IAY list of 2011, not in 2018.”
