Court awards two years imprisonment in hurting religious sentiments | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 29: Principal Sessions Judge Reasi, R N Wattal awarded two years imprisonment to Deepak Kumar for hurting religious sentiments. The police case said that on 11-10-2019 complainant namely Anil Kumar S/o Sita Ram R/o Beawalian Tehsil Pouni moved written application before SHO Police Station Pouni with the averment that adjoining to village Beawalian there is one ashram and near to the ashram there was a installed idol of Lord Hanuman Ji and during the intervening night of 10/11-10-2019 someone intentionally broke the arm of that idol, as a result religious sentiments of Hindu community of the area were injured. FIR 58/2019 for the commission of offences u/s 295 of RPC was registered and investigation commenced, IO went to the spot, prepared the spot sketch, got photography of the idol done and arrested the accused u/s 54 of Cr PC and at the disclosure statement of the accused the arm of the idol was recovered, spot sketch of recovery was prepared, statement of witnesses were recorded u/s 161 of Cr PC and offences u/s 295 of RPC were proved against the accused and charge sheet presented in the court on 16-10-2019. Principal Sessions Judge Reasi after hearing both the sides awarded two years imprisonment.
