| GDC Kathua organizes online quiz on ‘National Pollution Control Day’ | | |

KATHUA, Dec 2: Department of Environmental Sciences and Ravi Eco Club, Government Degree College Kathua have organized ‘Inter College Online Quiz’ on the occasion of ‘National Pollution Control Day’ on with the objective of sensitizing the students about degrading environment and instant initiatives to b taken for the abatement of Environmental Pollution. A total of 430 students belonging to various colleges of the JKUT like GDC Bishnah, GDC Doda, GDC Kalakote, GDC Kathua, GCW Kathua, GDC Majalta, GDC Marh, GDC Poonch, GDC Paloura, GCW Parade, GDC Udhampur and SPMR College of Commerce participated in the Online Quiz. The quiz was mainly based on environmental pollution problems, environmental disasters, current affairs, emerging environmental technologies etc. Students took part in the online quiz enthusiastically and 207 students scored more than 75% marks. Anjali Basotra of GDC Kathua, Mohd Javaid and Qadeer Ahmed from GDC Poonch secured top positions by obtaining 100% marks in the quiz. E-certificates will be issued to the students scoring more than 75% marks. The online quiz was organized under the patronage of Prof Raj Kiran, Principal GDC Kathua. She insisted on organizing such events on a regular basis for the awareness of the students and inculcating concern towards degrading environment. Dr Deepshikha Sharma, HOD Environmental Sciences and Convener Ravi Eco Club coordinated the whole event. Prof Surbhi Gupta and Prof Neeru Sharma of Deptt of Environmental Sciences acted as the Organizing Secretaries of the quiz. |
