EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Dec 2: National Conference vice-president Omar Abdullah on Thursday said that “some people in Jammu and Kashmir don’t want elections to be held.” Talking to reporters here, Omar said, “Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, himself expressed his keen desire to hold elections in J&K. When we met the PM in New Delhi he stressed on the need to bridge the gap between Delhi and J&K.” Omar said, “Union Home Minister Amit Shah during his recent J&K visit assured that polls will be held soon after the delimitation exercise gets completed.” The former J&K chief minister without naming anyone said, “However, a few people in J&K are hatching conspiracies to ensure that elections are not held. They don’t want polls to be held here.” Omar said that there should be no political interference in the delimitation exercise. |
