ADC chairs meeting to discuss arrangements for Armed Flag Day

KATHUA, Dec 2: Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kathua Atul Gupta today chaired the District Level Armed Forces Flag Day committee meeting here at DC Office complex, the other day.
The meeting started with the resolve to create maximum awareness among the general public especially in schools regarding the importance of Armed Forces Flag day, celebrated on 7th December and also regarding the voluntary contribution to be made by all officers and officials of Government Departments and other institutions. It was decided in the meeting that Armed Forces Flag Day will be celebrated at 10:30M in the conference hall of DC office Complex, Kathua where ex-service men and war veterans will be honoured during the event.
It was also decided in the meeting that efforts shall be made for substantial increase in the contribution from the last year for which provision of online contribution shall be made to facilitate the people to contribute without physically reaching out to the collection teams. It was also decided to involve NCC, NSS, Youth club volunteers and others for the celebration of National day.
On the occasion, ADC Kathua directed CEO Kathua and higher secondary schools to select at least 2-5 students to deliver speeches highlighting the valour of our brave soldiers who laid down their lives for protecting the unity and integrity of the country.
To achieve larger donations, it was also decided that donation boxes will be installed at DC office Kathua and other important district offices to be provided by Zila Sanik Welfare Officer, Kathua. Similarly SSP Kathua was also asked to increase the contribution through their subordinate Police Stations and other units.
Drawing and Disbursing Officers along with District Treasury Officer was directed to ensure that the contribution of the volunteers is deducted as per their willingness.
The committee also advised Zila Sainik Welfare Officer, Kathua to hold regular meetings with the District Armed Forces Committee and play an active role in promotion of activities related to the welfare of the families of the armed forces and Ex-Servicemen.
