| Government Degree College, Chenani organizes quiz competition on non-communicable diseases | | |

JAMMU, Dec 2: Government Degree College, Chenani under the aegis of its NSS unit ‘Prayatna’, IQAC and AZADI KA AMRIT MOHATSAV cell organized one day intra-college quiz competition on non-communicable diseases. The event was organized to implement the multi-sector action plan for prevention and control of common non-communicable diseases and to spread awareness amongst the student community about the same.
Principal of the College, Dr. Pragya Khanna stated that non-communicable diseases are the major causes of mortality and morbidity globally. She said awareness about non-communicable diseases and their risk factors has an important role in prevention and management strategies of these diseases. She further stated that such diseases account for about 38 million deaths annually out of which majority occur in low and middle income countries.
In order to avoid the mass gathering only limited numberof students were allowed to participate in the competition with strict adherence to COVID SOPs. The participants were divided in to four teams Tawi, Chenab, Jehlum and Devika and their knowledge was assessed through four rounds. The students participated with full enthusiasm and with Devika emerging winner in the competition.
