GLDM Degree College Hiranagar observes National Pollution Prevention Day | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
HIRANAGAR, Dec 2: Govt GLDM Degree College Hiranagar commemorated National Pollution Prevention Day to honor the people who lost their lives in the Bhopal Gas Tragedy in 1984. The day is observed every year to create awareness among the general public about the pollution level and rate on which the harmful substances are emitted in environment of the country. The theme of the event was “Raise awareness about the importance of pollution control and educate people on how to prevent pollution”. The programme was organized by the Department of EVS in collaboration with College IQAC. Prof Neha Bhagat, convener of the Eco-Club, had taken the initiative to organize the event. In her address she enlightens the participants and faculty members about how to maintain an environment for healthy life. Prof Sujat Khan, Convener IQAC, Prof Neha Bhagat HOD EVS and Convener Eco-Club along with her committee members; Dr Jyoti Rani, Prof Kiran Thapa, Dr Arun Kumar, Prof Arvind Kumar, Dr Usha Rani and Radhika Sharma coordinated the event. Students from various colleges participated in poster making event. The first position was secured by Shivali Devi, student of semester first GLDM Degree College, 2nd position was shared by Priya Sharma of GLDM Degree College and Riya Sharma of GDC Akhnoor. The third position was bagged by Kulsum Banoo of GDC Thathri. The event was organized under the overall supervision and support of Prof Suresh Sharma, Principal of the college. The entries were evaluated by Prof Arun Kumar, Prof Neha Bhagat and Prof Arvind Kumar. At the conclusion of the event E-certificates were awarded to the winners of the competition. |
