| Citizen's Forum urges Sonia to appoint Azad as JKPCC chief | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 6: Citizen's Forum Jammu has urged Congress President Sonia Gandhi to hand over the reins of the party in J&K to Ghulam Nabi Azad.
In a statement president of Citizen's Forum R K Chada said, "We request Soniaji not to make Jammu leaders subservient to Kashmir leaders. Ghulam Nabi Azaad is the only capable person to lead Congress in Jammu. We have watched him as an ordinary worker in the Congress Party with humble start and he was worked relentlessly for the betterment of Congress in Jammu. Nobody knows the name incumbent JKPCC president in Jammu. For your information all leaders from Jammu are hoping to become Dy. Chief Minister in future. A man from Jammu only can restore dignity to the Congress Party."
He said, " We request Soniaji not to repeat the mistake that once former Prime Minister late Rajiv Gandhi committed in !987 by allowing Farooq Abdullah to rig the elections which led to the outbreak of militancy in the region. Since then Jammu has been treated as ghulam of Kashmiri leaders. The discrimination of Jammu in development and politics does not require any mention." |
