DG Family Welfare & MCH Immunization J&K chairs review meeting in Doda

DODA, Dec 6: To take the appraisal of the family welfare activities run by the Health Department & to review its performance, the Director General Family Welfare, MCH & Immunization J&K Dr Saleem ur Rehman today conveyed a meeting here at DC office Doda.
At the outset, Chief Medical Officer, Dr M Yaqoob Mir gave a detailed presentation regarding the activities of the Health Department besides measures taken by the department to tackle the cases of COVID-19 in the District.
During the meeting, the DG Family Welfare Dr Saleem ur Rehman enjoined upon the medical staff to work cordially in making all the family welfare schemes successful on the ground. He asked them to facilitate people to access quality health care facilities at their door steps.
The Director General FW, also reviewed and discussed the vaccination being given to Pregnant Women, newly born children in the District.
Regarding increase in institutional deliveries at block level, the DG Family Welfare directed the BMOs to put in extra efforts to utilize the services of ASHAs to motivate the expecting mothers to go for institutional & safe delivery. He also emphasised on immunization, antenatal check up and wide awareness about family planning methods.
The Staff of Dy CMO Doda and BMOs were also directed to hold regular awareness camps at Panchayat levels to educate the masses regarding various health sector schemes.
With regard to COVID-19, the chair directed CMO Doda and all the concerned to make coordinated efforts to avert fresh surge in COVID-19 cases . He stressed on universal testing of all foreign travellers to District Doda in the light of the emergence of new COVID variant Omicron.
Those present in the meeting were Dy CMO Doda Dr Rakesh Bhagat, BMOs, MS GMC Doda besides staff of Dy CMO Office and District COVID Cell Doda.
