JKPCC minority department holds meeting

Jammu, Dec 6: The monthly meeting of JKPCC Minority Department was held at PCC HQ under the chairmanship of S. Gurdarshan Singh, a statement said.
It said the objective of the meeting was to mobilize the cadre of the minority Dept. of JKPCC in view of the up-coming assembly elections.
Several members belonging to the Sikh minority community joined the Congress party.
The programme was facilitated with the effort of newly appointed district chairman Minority Dept of Jammu Urban S. Baldev Singh Wazir. Michael Wazir, S. Jagjeet Singh and Mohammad Tariq (all State Coordinators) were also present during the joining programme.
S. Gurdarshan Singh lauded the decision of Pinkey Sundan, Manjeet Kour , Karanveer Singh, Kulbir Singh and Balwinder Singh to join the Congress party and said that Minority Communities constitute a major chunk of population in the State and played pivotal role in the formation of Govt. in the state. He further said that S. Manmohan Singh Ji Former Prime Minister had taken several steps to uplift the minorities.
Michael Wazir State Coordinator while welcoming the new entrants into the party fold said that the Congress is the true well wisher of the minority communities and asked the minorities members to work with full dedication and sencerety to ensure that the hands of Sonia Gandhi and PCC President G.A. Mir are strengthened for the welfare of the minority community.
He further appealed to all the reach out to all the minority population by visiting their place and help them to solve their problems.
S. Baldev Singh Wazir demanded installation of Baba Bandha Singh Bhadhur statue at Kunjwani Chowk.
Jagjeet Singh State Coordinator said that Govt. should complete its delimitation process and reserve four assembly seats for the Sikh minority community.
Chaudary Mohammad Tariq thanked all the minority leaders for their active participation in the programme and assured that the newly joined members will work with full dedication for the welfare of the party as well as the minority communities.
Those who spoke on the occasion were Balwinder Singh Rinku, Nassir Masih, Ravinder Singh, Kamaldeep Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Amrik Singh, Satnam Singh and others.
