GDC Bhadarwah organizes awareness, blood donation programme | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 6: In a series of awareness programmes GDC Bhadarwah in collaboration with J&K AIDS Control Society, (JKACS) different activities were organized on blood donation viz. poster making, slogan writing and debate competition, a statement said. It said, “The programme was organized under the guidance of Dr. Kuldeep K Sharma, Principal of the college. The event was organized to commemorate the 75th year of Independence Azadi ka amrit Mahotsav. The aim of the programme was to raise global awareness of the need for safe blood donation. Safe blood, blood products and their transfusion are a critical aspect of care and public health. To ensure that everyone who needs safe blood has access to it.” “About forty five students of the college actively participated in the programme and expressed their views by writing slogans, making posters and debating on the topic,” the statement added. Dr Sandeep Kotwal Nodal Officer of the Red Ribbon Club of the college presided over the function and expressed his views on the importance of blood donation. Principal of the college Dr. Kuldeep K Sharma appreciated the students for their active participation. He stressed upon the importance of the blood for life and encourage the students to participate in blood donation camps because every drop of blood counts and can save a precious life. Jahanvi Sharma of 5th semester was adjudged as winner of the poster making competition whereas Ajay Kumar and Susheetal Aryan of 5th semester secured 2nd and 3rd positions in poster making activity. Ritika Sharma of 5th semester was adjudged as winner in slogan writing activity whereas Sabreen and Vishal Bharti secured 2nd and 3rd positions in slogan writing activity. Prof Davinder Kumar, Prof Sandesh Kumar, Prof Jaideep Kumar and Dr. Sangeeta Devi acted as judges for the event. |
