ACB produces charge-sheet against Executive Engineer, Assistant Accounts Officer, SAMAGRA in trap case | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 6: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) produced a charge sheet against Rajinder Kumar, Executive Engineer and Mohammad Farooq, Assistant Accounts Officer, SAMAGRA (Education Division, SSA/RMSA, Div III-IV) in trap case in the Court of Anti Corruption Jammu. The case was registered on the basis of a complaint regarding alleged demand of bribe by Rajinder and Farooq for release of long pending bills. The complainant alleged that the company of the complainant had carried out partial construction work. He had received payment of Rs. 29.97 lakh in February, 2020. After completion of some more work, bills worth Rs. 15 lakhs were raised by the complainant. The accused officials withheld payment on the ground that their share in respect of the earlier payment has not been paid in terms of 2 percent and 1.5 percent respectively as such Rs. 45,000 was demanded for the release of the new bill. The ACB registered FIR number 05/20 U/s 7 Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act r/w 120B IPC at PS ACB Jammu against Rajinder and Farooq. The officials were subsequently caught red handed while demanding and accepting bribe. After receiving sanction from government, a charge sheet of the FIR was produced against the accused in the Anti-Corruption Court, Jammu for judicial determination. |
