JAMMU, Dec 6: Crime Branch Jammu has produced charge-sheet in a case relating to alleged land grabbing.
In a statement here a spokesman of the Crime Branch said, "a chargesheet was produced In case FIR No. 20/2010 U/S 420, 467, 468, 471, 120-B, RPC, 5(2) PC Act of P/S Crime Branch Jammu against accused Gurmukh Singh S/O Gurmeet Singh R/O Narwal Pain Satwari Jammu Romesh Chander S/O Lajpat Rai R/O Rehari Jammu Tara Chand S/o Mangat Ram R/o Bakshi Nagar, Jammu (Now expired) then Patwari Halqa Sunjwan, Jammu and Aslam Din s/o Haji Kala Khan R/o Rehan Kotranka the then Naib Tehsildar Bahu (Now Expired) for their involvement in grabbing 1 kanal 10 Marlas land at Sunjwan belonging to the complainant after hatching a criminal conspiracy and managing fictitious Fard-e- Intikhab to grab the land by way of impersonation."
"The chargesheet has been produced in the Hon'ble Court of Spl. Judge Anti-Corruption Jammu for judicial determination," it added.
"A written complaint was lodged by one Bal Krishan Dutta S/o Ludermani Dutta R/o H. No. 77 Resham Ghar Colony, Jammu in Crime Branch, wherein the complainant had alleged that he is the owner of land measuring 1 kanal 10 marlas under khasra No. 654 and 656 min situated at Sunjwan and he had applied several times before the Revenue authorities for demarcation of said land which was not demarcated by the concerned revenue officials because of vested interest of some land grabbers who wanted to grab the said land in connivance with revenue officials," the statement said.
"On receipt of this complaint, a preliminary verification was initiated by Crime Branch, Jammu and the allegations levelled were prima-facie substantiated which led to registration of the instant case. During the course of investigation, record pertaining to the land in question was obtained from revenue department; statements of witnesses were recorded u/s 161/164-ACr.PC. The original copy of sale deed of dated 12th of Oct. 2004 was obtained from concerned court and seized in the case. Therefore, the evidence collected during the course of investigation reveals that Gurmukh Singh and Romesh Chander in connivance with the then Patwari Halqa Sunjwah Tara Chand and the then Naib Tehsildar, Aslam Din managed fake/fictitious Fard-e- Intikhab, while Romesh Chander impersonated himself as Bal krishan Dutta (Complainant) before the Hon'ble Court. Both the accused persons misled the Hon'ble Court and prepared a fake sale deed in the name of Gurmukh Singh. Since accused Gurmukh Singh is absconding ever since the registration of the case, as such the charge-sheet has been produced against him u/s 512 CrPC," the statement added.
