MBIF empowering local communities of Leh with integrated approach | | | Early Times Report LEH, Dec 8: Nestle Healthy Kids Program of Magic Bus India Foundation (MBIF) responding to the needs of the adolescents in the rural communities. Magic Bus Foundation is moving towards the integrated approach and plans to carry out a number of development programs based on the themes like health, education, Nutrition, rural development and women's development. The focus of the organization has always been centered on children, women and marginalized groups working to improve the socio-economic, education and health status of village communities. Magic Bus Foundation Vision is to create a world where children break out of poverty and lead fulfilling, rewarding lives, contributing positively to their community and to the world around them. It focuses on enabling children to complete secondary education, delay their age of marriage, and skilling young people to be in jobs, we are helping move a generation out of the vicious cycle of poverty. Founded by Matthew Spacie in 1999, Magic Bus equips children and young people in the age group of 12 to 18, with the skills and knowledge they need, to grow up and move out of poverty. This takes them from a childhood full of challenges to a life with meaningful livelihoods. Since its inception, Magic Bus has transformed the lives of one million children and young people, helping them move out of poverty. The foundation organized an event where they felicitated the village education committee members of Kharnakling and Solar Communities .The Local Sarpanch and other village Heads were also present in the programme and were also felicitated for their contribution to NHKP of Magic Bus India Foundation. Cluster Manager of Leh, also congratulated the Local volunteers, Community Members who have been continuously serving humanity from last many decades irrespective of color, caste, creed or religion, in Leh. He said there is a need to build the capacity of volunteers so they could be more effective during natural calamities. |
