Clean India Campaign organized at GGM Science College | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Dec 8: NSS unit of GGM Science College Jammu organized a cleanliness drive on ‘To Say No to Plastic Use.’ The clean India campaign has been planned under the aegis @ 75 years of India Independence Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration with a vision and action to mobilize public to participate voluntarily in this nationwide drive of collection of waste plastic and their disposal. The event was conducted under the guidance of Dr Ravinder Tickoo principal and supervision of Dr Narinder Kumar NSS PO. Dr Ravinder Tickoo appreciated the students for such event of cleanliness drive to say no to plastic use. In this connection the event started with motivational inspirational and informative lecture delivered by Dr Narinder Kumar here today to sensitize the students and volunteers to raise awareness about the relevance of plastic and pollution free J&K and to inspire positive approach towards its importance. He apprised the volunteers, students and public regarding the hazardous effect of polyethylene on the environment. He called upon every individual to carry forward the message of cleanliness and continue to contribute their services to keep our city and surroundings clean for a better future. NSS PO underlined that the initiative of replacement of polythene by traditional handmade cloth and jute bags require more motivation, workshops ,lectures, oath etc. The participation of Volunteers and youth in Cleanliness derive is appropriate step toward Swacchta Bharat mission and was applauded by Principal of the college. The volunteers and students showed their zeal and enthusiasm in cleanliness derive and make it successful event. More than 60 volunteers took part in this cleanliness. |
