| GDC RS Pura holds series of events under Human Rights week | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Dec 8: Cell Against Sexual Harassment (CASH Committee) in collaboration with NSS unit of Govt. Degree College RS Pura organized a series of events to celebrate Human Rights Week under the aegis of IQAC and Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav. The Session started with an awareness lecture. The resource person of the session was Dr Navneet Kaur, Founder Chairperson NGO SUPPORT and National Chairperson Human Rights Social Justice Council of India. The event started with formal welcome address by Dr. Balwinder Kaur, Convener, CASH Committee. Dr. Navneet Kaur gave a detailed information about the various Human Rights and make the audience aware about the violence prevailing in the society. She emphasized the youth to raise their voice and not to surrender to adverse circumstances.
Dr. Navneet Kaur honored the faculty and outstanding students (NSS, NCC and Sports) by giving them Certificates of Appreciation from NGO SUPPORT. She also distributed medals to the winners of Intercollegiate sports tournament.
Vipin Nischal made the students aware about the importance of Yoga and performed the laughing exercise for relieving stress in day to day life.
Prof. Sunil Uppal, Principal of the college stressed upon educating the youth specially males to change the thinking of the society about the gender discrimination. Gender Champion Club was also inaugurated for the Session 2021-22 by organizing a Signature Campaign in which the resource persons, Principal, Faculty members and students of the college participated. The proceedings of the program were carried out by Prof. Bindu Kumari, NSS Programme Officer whereas Dr. Anuradha, Department of Punjabi presented a formal vote of thanks. The committee members who made this programme a success are Prof. Himanshu Khajuria, Prof. Sandeep Kumari and Dr. R K Santhal.
