Repeal of farm laws big victory of farmers: Ch Manmohan | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 9: Ch Manmohan Singh, President All India Jat MahaSabha and former Mayor Jammu on Thursday termed the repeal of three farm laws as a big victory for farmers. In a statement issued here, Singh said that it is not only the victory of Sanyukt Kissan Morcha but of democracy. He said that history has been created as the central government was made to consider all the demands of agitating farmers demonstrating at various borders of Union Capital New Delhi. The former Mayor praised the Union Government for taking this farmer-friendly decision though he said that this should have been done much earlier as many of the farmers lost their lives in this year-long protest. He expressed contentment over Kissan Sanyukt Morcha's decision of ending the Kissan Andolan and said that though all is well when the end is well but it is painful that over 700 farmers have to sacrifice their lives for this to happen. Singh appealed to Rakesh Takait and Yudhvir Singh to make a memorial for those farmers who laid down their lives during the 378-day long agitation. He congratulated the Kissan Sanyukt Morcha for the historic triumph. He said that the farmers celebrating their victory on different borders of Delhi till December 11 are the real heroes as they have also ensured that the government takes back all the cases against 48,000 farmers. He said that the victory of farmers will be recorded in the history of the country in golden words. |
