Criminal case registered against HIRRA consultations

JAMMU, Dec 9: Crime Branch Jammu registered a criminal case of cheating under the relevant sections of law against suspects Reet Koura D/O Balwinder Singh R/o 1102, Ground Floor, Sector 79 SAS Nagar Punjab and Kulvir Singh Koura S/O Sh. Dalip Singh R/o VPO Makorar Sahib Tehsil Moonak, Sangrur, Punjab both proprietors of M/S HIRRA Consultations and Services Pvt Ltd. SCO 509, Top Floor Sector-70, Mohali (Punjab) for their involvement in defrauding the complainant- of hard earned money to the tune of Rs. 3, 41,000 on the pretext of arranging her permanent settlement abroad – viz Canada under SINP Program.
A written complaint lodged by Geeta Anand W/O Sh. Raj Kumar R/O H.No. 71, Sector-1 Durga Nagar Jammu with Crime Branch Jammu alleged that she wanted to go abroad i.e. Saskatchewan, Canada for permanent settlement under SINP programme for which she approached HIRAA Consultation & Services Pvt. Ltd who assured her that they would arrange her settlement by completing all the formalities for which she paid an amount of Rs. 3, 41,300/- in various installments.
After making the payment and completing the formalities, the complainant approached the Service provider (Consultancy) and enquired as to whether her case was processed for the Canadian Embassy. The said suspected company adopted delaying tactics on one pretext or other and duped her of her money.
A preliminary verification was initiated and during the course of enquiry the allegations leveled are substantiated. The omissions and commissions on the part of HIRAA Consultation & Services Pvt. Ltd others prima-facie constitute offences punishable u/s 420 RPC. Accordingly, a formal case was registered at P/S Crime Branch, Jammu for in-depth investigation.
