BJP Govt on forefront to ensure welfare of farmers: Abhinav
12/9/2021 10:28:00 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 9: The government led by PM Narendra Modi is on forefront to ensure welfare of farmers by revolutionizing the agriculture sector as never before.
This was stated by J&K BJP Spokesperson Abhinav Sharma accompanied by BJP Kissan Morcha President Omi Khajuria, BJP Office Secretary Tilak Raj Gupta and BJP Media Secretary Dr. Pardeep Mahotra during a press conference, at Party Headquarter, Trikuta Nagar on Thursday.
Abhinav Sharma said that never in the history of the country so much has been done for the tiller community by any of the successive governments. Particularly talking about farmers of Districts Jammu, Samba and Kathua, who were affected by gale, hailstorm and incessant rains recently, the BJP spokesperson informed that government in an unprecedented move has extended the grains procurement period till December 31, 2021, which was the burning demand of the farming community because due to vagaries of weather they could not harvest the crop in time.
He said that the Modi Government is proving to be vanguard for welfare of farmers but they should also listen to the government for their own betterment.
Abhinav expressed gratitude to the Union Agriculture Minister TS Tomar, MOS PMO Dr. Jitendra Singh and Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha for showing serious concern towards this genuine issue of farming community.
He however appealed to the farmers to get their crops insured at the time of securing loans through Kissan Credit Cards through banks instead of depending on the government.
The senior BJP leader also assured that the payment of farmers who have deposited their paddy in the procurement centres will be paid within a week's time. He said that the government has taken many historical steps for the welfare of farmers and Rs 2000 under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme is one among them.
