DC reviews implementation of Jal Jevan Mission

DODA, Dec 9: Deputy Commissioner Vikas Sharma today reviewed the implementation of Jal Jevan Mission at a meeting attended by functionaries of Jal Shakti department and officials of Grameen Vikas Trust (NGO), held here in his office chamber.
The meeting was informed that Jal Shakti Kendra has started the uploading of the data of newly created Pani Panchayat Simitis village wise on the designated portal. The data of 258 Simitis out of 400 PPS have been uploaded till date, the meeting was told.
The DC was further informed that 5 numbers of eNITs in respect of Implementation Support Agency (ISA) were floated 6 times but only one Bid was successfully opened and letter of permission stands issued in favour of the empanelled NGO, Grameen Vikas Trust. Proposal for allotment of second cluster to the same NGO/ Agency stands submitted to DJJM for approval being lowest (L 1) in the quorum.
In this regard, the DC directed the concerned to open all the NITs and issue other clusters to the qualifying NGOs/ Agencies as per the norms or go for re- tenders in the shortest possible time for effective implementation of the JJM Scheme.
It was informed that the DPRs for 190 schemes at an estimated cost of Rs 706. 88 crore are under process. The chair directed to finalise the DPRs and float tenders by coming Monday.
Directions were also passed to check the water quality village wise preferably in Gram Sabhas through Panchayat Pani Simitis with the help of technical staff so that the purity of water consumed by people is ascertained village wise.
The meeting was further informed that all 400 village Action Plans have been formulated and 214 have been uploaded on IMIS portal. Reviewing Irrigation department works, it was revealed that a total 8 projects have been submitted to NABARD for approval.
The DC directed officials of Grameen Vikas Trust to place banners & hoardings at prominent places at District Headquarter and in villages for wide publicity of the Jal Jeevan Mission initiative of the government.
It was informed that Grameen Vikas Trust has been allotted 80 villages of Gandoh, Chilly Pingal and Kahara blocks for IEC activities. The Jal Shakti Department was asked to send officials well versed with schemes in the Gram Sabhas and PPS meeting not below the rank of Junior Engineers so that the scheme is implemented effectively.
The meeting was attended by CPO Doda, SE Jal Shakti, ACP DODA, DIO Doda, XEn Irrigation Doda, XEn PWD/ Jal Shakti Gandoh, team leader Grameen Vikas Trust besides other officials of Jal Shakti department.
