JAMMU, Dec 17: BJP Jammu District President Vinay Kumar Gupta said that while acknowledging that poor families still need food security assistance, the Modi government has decided to extend its free ration scheme, Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY), for another four months, until March 2022.
In a meeting, Gupta said that under the Yojana government would provide free food grains to the needy in J&K amidst the ongoing COVID pandemic and thus provide food security to the beneficiaries. He said that it is a great work that will deliver free food facilities to lakhs of poor population in the Jammu district as well.
