| Omicron variant's rapid spread must be curbed: TMF | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 17: Team Mask Force (TMF) chairman, Vijay Sharma has appealed the authorities to ensure increase in tracing and testing at an increased rate to curb the trend of new variant Omicron being observed in other countries while urging to adhere to strict compliance of Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB).
In a press release issued here today, Vijay Sharma said that the media reports so far are indicating that the proportion of Coronavirus cases in the US caused by the Omicron variant has increased sharply, and may witness a significant surge in infections as soon as in the next few months. He said that according to new data from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, during the week that ended last Saturday, Omicron accounted for 2.9% of cases across that country, up by 0.4 percent from the previous week. |
