| Tourism, Jal Shakti Departments celebrate River Festival at Jia Pota | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 22: Directorate of Tourism, Jammu and Department of Jal Shakti Jammu celebrated River Festival in collaboration with Society for Environment Education & Modern Art at Jia Pota Ghat, Akhnoor. The event was managed by the Tourism & Cultural Heritage Society. Verinder Gupta, SDM Akhnoor was the chief guest of the function and Jagdish Bhagat was the guest of honour. A graceful Bhajan Sandhya and Dogri Folk dance was the main attraction of the function which was followed by Maha Arti of River Chenab. Santoor performance by Ravi Sharma and Rohit Sharma was also one of the major attractions which were enjoyed by the audience besides the Shiv Tandav by Saptak Classical Fusion Band. Another graceful performance of Jal Stuti Bharatnatyam was by Nitika Agarwal also enjoyed by the people. Ravika and Group performed a beautiful Dogri Folk dance. The function was concluded with Maha Arti of River Chenab and Deepdan. Everyone present in this function appreciated the initiative taken by the authorities and demanded to make it a regular feature to boost the Tourism of Jammu. Raminder K Sanhotra, President Tourism & Cultural Heritage Society thanked all the dignitaries and people present on the occasion. |
