GDC Vijaypur organizes essay writing competition on "Dogri Manta Din" | | | Early Times Report SAMBA, Dec 22: To commemorate "Dogri Manta Din", Department of Dogri, Govt Degree College (GDC) Vijaypur organized an essay writing competition on "Dogri Language" with the aim to unleash hidden potential, passion and love for the ethnic language of Dogras. The objective of the competition was to open new vistas for Dogri language as it is the part of culture, produced or created by cultural beings and entrusts new responsibilities upon the Dogras in development of Dogri as its study expands over knowledge of its makers and its processors, their creative processes and strategies, their material functions. Students from various Institutions across the JK UT participated with great zeal, enthusiasm and fervor. The first position was shared by Urbhi Mottan of GDC Vijaypur and Amandeep of GDC RS Pura; second position was secured by Manisha Sangotra of GDC Vijaypur while third position was shared by Vinod Kumar of DDE, University of Jammu and Abhay Kumar of GDC Vijaypur. Consolation prize was given to Sanjeev of GDC Vijaypur. The event was organized under the guidance of Dr Sangeeta Sudan, Principal of the College. In her address, she thanked all the participants for showcasing their creative talent in the competition and appreciated their potential and ideas. She further exhorted that Dogri language is the second prominent language of JK UT which has an important place on the linguistic map of Northern India and it is a matter of pride that Dogri language was included in the eighth schedule after a long period of struggle. The whole event was coordinated by Dr. Sunil Kumar Mangoch, Head Department of Dogri. E-Certificates were awarded to all the winners. |
