GDC Ramnagar organizes lecture on Energy Conservation | | | Early Times Report RAMNAGAR, Dec 22: To observe and celebrate National Energy Conservation Week, NSS Unit Of Govt Degree college Ramnagar organized lecture on energy conservation with the theme "Save energy Save Earth" today as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The event was organized under the able patronship of Dr Udhey Bhanu, Principal GDC Ramnagar. The resource person of the programme was Gowhar Ramzan, HOD Environmental Sciences, GDC Ramnagar. The theme of Energy Conservation week 2021 given by Energy Efficiency Bureau (BEE) is Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav: Energy Efficient India. Ramzan, the resource person demonstrated the students how energy conservation is the decision and practice of using less energy. He also explained in detail the comparative statement of energy production and energy consumption of developing and developed countries. It has been estimated that in India nearly 25,000 MW can be saved by implementing end-use energy efficiency and demand side management measures. Efficient use of energy and its conservation assumes even greater importance in view of the fact that one unit of energy saved at the consumption level reduces the need for fresh capacity creation by 2 times to 2.5 times. The programme was facilitated by Prof Suresh Kumar Dogra, HOD Physics and senior faculty member and was coordinated by Prof Ritika Mahajan, HOD Chemistry and NSS PO of the college. Prof Aditya Sharma HOD Computer Science and Dr Om Prakash, HOD Sanskrit were also present.
