| GDC Bishnah conducts cleaning of Ranbir Canal | | | 
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Dec 22: On the 2nd day of 7-day long Special Winter Camp as part of Clean India Programme-2021, the NSS Unit of GDC Bishnah in collaboration with Municipal Committee, Bishnah continued the cleaning of Ranbir Canal flowing through the Bishnah Town in front of the College Gate. Today the NSS volunteers undertook the Swachhata drive on the other bank of the Canal by picking the plastic and other waste material.The NSS volunteers also picked the solid waste from inside the Canal. Later they went to the shopkeepers near the Canal and made them aware of the hazards of throwing the waste material inside the water bodies like Irrigation canals. The NSS volunteers along with the NSS Programme Officer also met the President of Mini Bus Association and entreated him to ask the drivers and Conductors to convince the passengers traveling by their mini buses not to throw the waste on the banks of the Ranbir canal and instead throw them in the dustbin. After the drive, the NSS volunteers were given the refreshment too. |
