JAMMU, Dec 22: GDC Basohli celebrated the Dogri Maanyata Diwas under the aegis of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”. To commemorate the Dogri maanayata Diwas a “Dogri Kavi Goshthi” was organized under and patronage of Dr. Nidhi Kotwal, Principal of the college. Well known Dogri poets and writers were invited for the programme, which started with the lighting of the traditional lamp by the Principal, dignitaries and the senior faculty. Prof. Bhram Dutt, organizing secretary, welcomed the guests and highlighted the importance of the day when Dogri language was introduced under the 8th Schedule of the Indian constitution. Shiv Dovalia, a well known Dogri poet, recited poems on culture and beauty of Basohli. Raj Kumar Dubey, budding writer, entertained the audience with “Hasya Ras” poetry. Satya Pal Gudwalia, Retd. Principal and Writer, presented Dogri ghazals and poems during the event. Prof. Bhram Dutt also recited his motivational poems. Nearly 100 students and all the faculty members attended the event. A formal vote of thanks was presented by Dr. RK Manhas. |
