JAMMU, Dec 22: Five days ‘National Art Workshop’ organized by IMFA, University of Jammu was today inaugurated by Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu Prof. Manoj Kumar Dhar in presence of world renowned critic, researcher & poet Dr. Taqi Abid from Canada. Prof. Shohab Inayat Malik, Principal IMFA, other faculty members, students & civil society members were also present on the occasion. Prof. Dhar lauded the efforts of IMFA for promoting music & fine arts. He said that from the last many months, IMFA is organizing activities not only in the campus, but outside Jammu district as well. Recently, two Kathak Dance workshops were organized by IMFA in Rajouri & Reasi District. Dr. Taqi delivered a lecture on the topic ‘Relationship of Urdu with Music’. He said that music is incomplete without Urdu. Dr. Taqi said that these songs would not have been popular if the musicians had not played a vital role in the song. He said that Urdu ghazals, music & Urdu goes side by side. The Kawalis in Urdu get too popularized because of music. Besides, ‘Sham-e-Ghazal’ is also being organized on the occasion of Annual Day of IMFA in the month of March 2022. The whole programme was coordinated by Dr. Milan Sharma, HOD Painting. |
