SCCU celebrates New Year | | | Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Jan 1: Senior Citizens' Club Udhampur (SCCU) organized an impressive function to celebrate New Year 2022. Under strict corona guidelines, prominent citizens from all walks of life, specially-abled persons and club members participated in the event. Chief Guest retired Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Vijay Singh Sambyal, along with others present unveiled the New Year Calendar of the Club. A two minutes silence was observed as a mark of respect on the demise of 12 people in Katra Mata Vaishnoo Devi tragedy. On the occasion President of the Club, Mahadeep Singh Jamwal said that the passing year 2021 has given us many constant challenges and they are going to continue in 2022. We have to look for rapid transformation and the possible alternatives to overcome them in 2022. Jamwal on behalf of Club extended best wishes to the citizenry and stressed upon observing the necessary protocol to defeat the Pandemic for the healthy and happy life. Chief Guest Vijay Singh Sambyal while talking to media appreciated the efforts of the club in mobilizing and encouraging the society for the awareness and their responsibilities in building nation. The way retired fraternity of Udhampur is delivering on the Club platter is source of inspiration for all other district retirees to follow the footsteps of the Udhampur Club. Club honored the Chief Guest by presenting a memento and thanked him for sparing his valuable time and traversing to Udhampur from Jammu to bless and guide the Club. |
