| Police solves hit-&-run case in Kulgam, accused arrested | | |

SRINAGAR, Jan 1: J&K Police have claimed to have solved a hit-and-run case in south Kashmir's Kulgam district by arresting the accused. On December 29, Police Station Kulgam received information that a motorcycle rider Jahangir Ahmad Dar , son of Shurat Kulgam was hit by an unknown vehicle near village Laroo area of Kulgam resulting his on the spot death.
"The driver of the unknown vehicle fled away from spot along with the vehicle, " the police said.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Kulgam.
A police spokesman said a special investigation team was constituted to probe the hit and run case.
"Investigation team taking advantage of modern gadgets, technical evidences & human inputs were able to identify the accused driver and subsequently arrested him within two days of the incident," the spokesman said.
The spokesman identified him as Mashooq Ahmad Dar of DH Pora Kulgam and said his Swift Car has also been seized. |
