Winter camp concludes at GDC Sidhra

JAMMU, Jan 3: A seven-day long winter camp got concluded at GDC Sidhra by conducting a valedictory function. The program was organized under the guidance of Principal Prof (Dr) Monika Sharma. The chief guest of the occasion was Dr Savita Nayyar, Associate Professor Dept. of Law Jammu University and NSS Coordinator University of Jammu. The program started with the lamp lighting ceremony by the chief guest. Welcome address for the program was presented by Dr Mehmood Ahmed PO NSS Unit GDC Sidhra and the proceedings of the program were carried out by Prof Deepa Kak Assistant Professor, Dept of Education.
During the camp NSS Volunteers participated with great enthusiasm. In this week-long camp, number of activities were organized which included cleanliness drive in the college campus, the adopted village Bain Bajalta and beautification of college premises. Door to door awareness campaign regarding cleanliness was also part of the camp. Different sports activities were also organized for the volunteers by PTI of the college Dr Mahak Mengi in which students participated with full zest and enthusiasm. Painting competition on the theme, "Clean India Green India " and skit competition on the theme "Say No to Drugs" and "Swachta Abhiyan" was also conducted during this NSS winter camp. A trip to Mansar lake was also organized where volunteers conducted cleanliness drive and spread the message of cleanliness among the visitors.
While addressing the Volunteers the chief guest, Dr Savita Nayyar advised them to work with determination and dedication for successful career.
The program was organized by Dr Mehmood Ahmed, NSS Program Officer and coordinated by Prof Deepa Kak, Coordinator NSS Unit of the college. Principal of the college, Dr Monika Sharma, congratulated all for the success of the winter camp and appreciated the volunteers for their diligent efforts.z
