GGM Science College organizes webinar on Swami Vivekananda's teachings | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 13: NSS Unit 1of GGM Science College Jammu held an International webinar on National Youth Day here today to sensitize the students to raise awareness about the relevance of Swami Vivekananda's teachings. The webinar was organized under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav with the theme "It's all in the mind 2022" under guidance of the Principal Dr. Ravender Tickoo and supervision of Dr. Narinder Kumar, NSS PO. Dr. Lal Bahadur Rana, president of Gandhi Peace Foundation, Nepal said that had Swami Vivekananda not died, India would have achieved independence much earlier. His teachings are not relevant for the youth of India but for the world and should be included in the education curricula worldwide, he said. Dr. Rajinder Vijay Magotra social activist and senior journalist Punjab Kesari added that philosophy of Swamiji and the ideals for which he lived and worked "could be a great source of inspiration" for the youth India and world. Dr. R.A. Malik, a well known educationist threw a detailed light on disseminating awareness among students about the importance of National Youth day. He added that Swami ji practiced meditation from a very early age. Earlier, NSS PO, Dr. Narinder Kumar in his welcome address, said that National Youth day is celebrated all over India in educational institutions with seminars, speeches, youth conventions, processions, Yoga asanas, presentations and recitations every year. Swami Vivekanand had a very strong belief that youth can transform India through their hard work, dedication, spiritual power, he added. His teaching instills a spirit of patriotism, brotherhood and self confidence among youth and students, he emphasized. The event ended with a special vote of thanks by the NSS PO.
