Tourists stranded on highway accuse admin of neglect | | | Early Times Report
ANANTNAG, Jan 13: A group of tourists who are stranded on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway for the past few days have demanded an intervention from the LG administration so that their problems are solved and they reach their respective destinations. The tourists said that they have exhausted all the money during their trip in the Kashmir valley and now they have been left with very little money. They lamented that although have been stranded at the highway for the past few days nobody from the administration has come to visit and enquire about their well being. “It is highly unfortunate that the Srinagar-Jammu national highway gets closed as soon as there is snowfall. The government should expedite the possibility of establishing an alternate link so that the people including the tourists don’t face problems as and when the weather turns inclement,” said the tourists. The tourists said that the people at helm especially those who are at the helm in the concerned district should be aware about the problems of the people who are stranded on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway. They said this would ensure that the people are not put to trouble as and when they are back from their trip of Kashmir. |
