Covid curbs at Srinagar airport | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Jan 13: Authorities announced on Thursday that passengers will be allowed to enter the Srinagar airport only three hours before their scheduled flight due to Covid-19. "Entry into the airport will be given only three hours before flight from today," Airport Director Kuldeep Singh said. He said this was to control congestion at the airport and to reduce the chances of infection. The Srinagar international airport in Budgam district is located 12 km from the city centre and is the most fortified airport in the country. Due to security checks, passengers usually reach the airport much before their scheduled departure timing. Singh requested the passengers to maintain social distance at the airport and wear face masks at all times. "We follow the rule no mask no entry. There is a fine of Rs 500 if any passenger remove the mask," he said. Around 10,000-13,000 passengers daily use the Srinagar Airport. Some 40 flights arrive here every day. |
