Early Times Report

JAMMU, Jan 14: The casual labourers and daily wagers engaged by the Power Development Department (PDD) are always at the receiving end with the present dispensation paying no heed to them and their families who are forced to feel the heat.
Day in and day out reports emanate that a casual labourer or daily wager of PDD now Power Distribution Corporation Limited has been electrocuted and in most of the cases it is the negligence of Corporation higher ups that leads to these unfortunate incidents.
Worst things take place as and when a casual labourer or daily wager dies while performing the duties. There is nobody to listen to the pleas of the family members of such a casual labourer or daily wager. In most of the cases the deceased casual labourer or daily wager is the sole bread earner with the family being pushed to the wall.
The present dispensation of Jammu & Kashmir led by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has failed to come to the rescue of the families of casual labourers or daily wagers as and when their dear one dies. The previous governments of the erstwhile state also did not do anything for these hapless people and it is due to this reason that they have been forced to feel the heat for years now.
