13 days on, Samba village reels under darkness | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 17: Residents of a village in Samba district today carried out a protest demonstration against the Power Distribution Corporation Limited (PDCL) against their failure to provide electricity transformer that was damaged 13 days back. The protesters came on the road and staged demonstration against the PDCL authorities for their failure to rectify the fault in the transformer developed some 13 days back. They said that despite repeated pleas they continue to shiver during the cold days due to the absence of power supply in their area. The protesters said that the students are the worst sufferers as they are not able to continue with their studies. They demanded that higher ups of the PDCL should intervene in the matter and the damaged electricity transformer is rectified and once again installed in the village. |
