Address issues of people in UP first, then talk about building Naya J&K: Mehbooba to BJP | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 17: President of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former J&K chief minister, Mehbooba Mufti, on Monday asked the ruling BJP to first set Uttar Pradesh right and then talk about Jammu and Kashmir. Addressing a gathering here, “The BJP Government cannot tolerate criticism. Anyone who raises his voice against the rulers is labeled as anti-national and booked.” She said, “They are talking about building Naya J&K, they should first address the problems in UP and then talk about building Naya Jammu and Kashmir. There is unemployment and poverty in UP that’s why they are playing a religious card there. The BJP has failed to build hospitals and health centers in UP. During Covid people didn’t find any place in the hospitals. When their near ones died they had to put the bodies in Ganga.” The PDP president said, “As the elections are coming near in UP, the BJP leaders in a bid to hide their failures are raking communal issues so that people get divided.” She asked the youth to stand up and fight against the “atrocities” by raising their voice through pen and paper. “Don’t indulge in any violent act as it provides an excuse to the government to book you,” she added. |
