JAMMU, Jan 19: Gadigarh to Miran Sahib road is literally dotted with potholes exposing the tall claims of the Government of providing good roads which has been creating inconvenience to the commuters.
This stretch comes in the way of the busiest road from Satwari to RS Pura but the dilapidated condition of the road has adversely affected the traffic movement. "Traveling everyday through this road is like a nightmare I can never escape from. All the patch work has washed away leaving potholes everywhere," said local residents. Sudden brakes by the bus, matadors drivers due to the potholes resulted in minor or major accidents, they alleged.
Although several VIP movements including LG pass through this stretch, nothing has been done to repair it, which shows the slackness of the government towards the basic needs of the common masses.
"Damaged roads are never reconstructed from scratch but just re-laid on the existing road. The patch work starts showing cracks and holes soon," they said. |
