Protect business community's interest while enforcing lockdown: Ajaz Kazmi to Govt | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 21: Apni Trade Union State President Ajaz Kazmi has appealed to the Government to protect the business community's interest in Jammu and Kashmir while enforcing lockdown. In a statement to the press, Kazmi said that the business community is suffering badly due to financial losses. Even as they follow the covid19 SOPs yet many have complained that they are being harassed for one reason or another. "The shopkeepers and hoteliers should be permitted to function as usual and proper checking should be made in markets to enforce the SOPs. The violators must be booked and punished as per the laws, but the harassment on the name of covid spread will not be tolerated," he said. He also demanded that the Govt must frame a policy to compensate in favour of the business establishments which suffered financial losses due to last year's covid lockdown and till date their businesses have not revived. He said that the traders must be taken into confidence whenever a decision is taken by the administration in the respective districts. "Business establishments have provided employment to hundreds and they should be provided Govt aid and steps which hamper the smooth business must be avoided," he added. |
