Slight improvement in J&K weather | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Jan 21: Weather in Jammu and Kashmir improved on Friday ahead of the weekend forecast of widespread moderate rain and snow. The night temperature recorded an increase throughout the valley except in Gulmarg and Pahalgam. MeT Centre Srinagar has forecast an active western disturbance most likely to hit Jammu and Kashmir on January 22-23. It could cause widespread moderate rain and snow disrupting surface and air transportation. Srinagar recorded a low of 2.8 degree Celsius against 2.2 degrees recorded a day back. Gulmarg in north Kashmir recorded minus 7.5 degrees Celsius against minus 5 on Thursday. Pahalgam in south Kashmir recorded a minimum of minus 2.4 degrees Celsius against the minus 0.6 degree Celsius recorded the previous night. Kokernag also in south Kashmir recorded a low of 0.4 degree Celsius. Kupwara settled at 1.2 degrees Celsius for the second consecutive day on Friday Leh in Ladakh recorded minus 12 degrees, Kargil minus 14.2 and Drass minus 21.4 degrees Celsius. |
