| General Category People's Front holds meeting | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 4: General Category People's Front (GCPF-JK) in its meeting under the chairmanship of Prof. Yash Paul Sanson, strongly condemned the existing system of reservation and termed it undemocratic, bias, prejudicial and partial.
The Front hailed the judgments of Supreme Court of India and its refusal to review its own judgments in the Nagaraj case and subsequent cases that have bearing on reservation in promotion for SCs / STs and upheld the conditions imposed for exercising reservation.
Som Nath Sharma, General Secretary of the Front, expressed concern over the imposition of heavy taxes, fines and service charges on people without applying mind whether they can afford to pay the same or not is a major cause of resentment among people against the Government which is likely to mar the prospective of the ruling party. He demanded 50 percent cut in power and water bills and heavy reduction in taxes. |
