Priyanka Gandhi slams JK Govt for using force against job aspirants | Border Battalion Row | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 4: Senior Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadara on Friday came in support of job aspirants protesting against the government’s decision to re-advertise the posts for border battalions without increasing the vacancies. Priyanka took to twitter this morning and wrote that the J & K Government is treating the job seekers shabbily. “Using force on JKP border battalion aspirants is condemnable. Like other recruitment processes this exercise is also stuck since 2019. The aspirants have filled the forms and are waiting for exams. It’s unfortunate that they are being beaten up for raising their genuine demand,” she has written. Priyanaka raising this issue has put the LG administration in a tight spot as it has become a “big issue''. “Now the Lieutenant Governor will have to think about this issue as it cannot be taken for granted,” said an observer. It’s in place to mention here that advertisement for filling up the posts in border battalions was issued in 2018 after the then Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh, announced constituting these battalions for the border residents. The process was set rolling and the physical tests of these aspirants were held. The shortlisted candidates had to appear in a written examination for final selection. Recently J&K administration re-advertised these posts and sought applications from new entrants. This has triggered uproar as the selected candidates are demanding that their written exams should be held and new posts be announced for the fresh applicants. These aspirants have been staging protests for the past many days. |
